I don't like to update without any photos but I suppose it is time for a post regardless! We survived the school holidays and endless children activities and thankfully back to our routine of old.
We absolutely love this city - it really is the coolest little capital on earth. Now you tell me where you can enjoy fine dining, fabulous cafes, fishing, tramping (hiking), the symphony, the theater (amazing acrobatic performance called Soap), NZ Int'l Film Festival, Wellington on a plate (food festival), the opera, Chocolate festival (today - still ill) in the span of 14 days - door to door in 10 minutes? Remarkable. We have a few more events this month and then it will be time to cool the debit card!! It is easy to justify spending on "experiences" when you are new to a country - but there comes a point where one must come back down to earth and realize that we LIVE here and have to space these things out...
On the downside, personally speaking, I have gone and ruptured a ligament in my toe (twisted my foot at gymnastics with the kids, foot went one way, toe went the other) that is become increasingly painful - I hobble around these days and am TRYING to see the bright side of yet another injury in the span of 18 months. I see a specialist this week and hope to pressure the system into surgery so that I can get on with life by the time summer rolls around - life meaning physical activity. Sigh...
It has been a mild winter but NZ is gearing up for a bit "winter" storm - these things make headlines here. Snow is expected to fall at sea level by tomorrow! If this is the case, I want to take the kids into the hills to rekindle a Canadian experience :) Will keep you all posted...!
